Time for change in Washington
Howard Beach: I have been a Democrat for many years and have no doubt in my mind that President Obama is not right for this country and should not get a second term in the White House.
Wake up, America. To the many undecided voters out there: What are you undecided about, exactly? Our country is a mess economically, the Middle East is in flames — and we have a President who likes to hang out with celebrities instead of protecting our ambassador in Libya and the three Americans killed with him on Sept. 11.
I am not a racist and am not against the President because of the color of his skin. At first, I thought that Obama would represent a change for this country, but he has failed us all. So, to all you undecided voters, please get involved in these final days of the election and find out just what this is all about. And if you think things are bad now, just wait and see: If we reelect Obama, the next four years will be even worse. Carol Maggio
The racial subtext
Woodhaven: After watching the third and final debate, I believe Mitt Romney and the Republicans subliminally relayed the message, "I can do the same thing President Obama is doing, except I'm white; therefore, vote for me!" Sean A. James
It all makes sense
Glendale: Mitt Romney worked for Bain Capital and Paul Ryan once worked for Oscar M ayer, so it's not hard to imagine why the former chose the latter as his running mate: An outsourcer trying to pass himself off as a friend of the middle class would certainly require the assistance of a baloney salesman. Peter Richards
High stakes
Rio Rancho, N.M.: I'm worried. Whoever is elected President will likely get to nominate one or more Supreme Court justices. That will have an impact on women, gay people and those of us who are not the heads of corporations. I'm also concerned about what will happen to women's right to equal pay, access to birth control and women's right to choose. President Obama's not perfect. But how would we feel if Romney got elected? Doug Long
Big idiot
Hackensack, N.J.: I, too, have a big announcement. This is huge. If the Trump family can prevail upon The Donald to have a complete examination of his psychological and emotional state to my satisfaction, I am prepared to write a check for $5 million or $100 (whichever is less) to The Donald's favorite charity, even if it is himself. Take all the time you want, Mr. Trump, but let's not let your condition get much worse. I am just as serious as you are. Let's get this done before someone gets hurt.

The truth about Benghazi
Bellmore, L.I.: Is there anyone in the United States who really believes that the White House was not immediately notified of the terrorist attack on our consulate in Benghazi? The White House spin is that it receives hundreds of emails daily and could have missed this one. President Obama is guilty of a massive coverup and owes the American people an apology, at the very least. John J. Ferrante
