A man was fatally shot in the chest in Mississauga early Saturday morning.
Peel Regional Police were called to a basement apartment around 4:18 a.m. at Lancaster and Reindeer Drive to find 23-year-old Mario Barnes suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.
Barnes succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
No suspects have been named and there has been no motive determined. Police are canvassing the area looking for more information.
The homicide unit said they are unsure whether the man lived in the area or was visiting. An autopsy will be conducted Sunday.
