FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) -- The public debate over the fate of a brain-dead, pregnant Texas woman and her fetus has ended quietly and privately.
Marlise Munoz was removed from life support on Sunday after John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth complied with a Texas judge's order.
Munoz was declared brain-dead in November, but the hospital cited state law in keeping her on machines for the sake of her fetus.
Munoz's husband, Erick Munoz, had sued the hospital because it would not remove life support as he said his wife would have wanted in such a situation.
Marlise Munoz will be buried soon by her husband and parents.
