BOSTON – Federal prosecutors have told a judge they have no evidence that Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev (joh-HAHR' tsahr-NEYE'-ehv) knew about his brother's alleged role in a triple slaying in Waltham two years before the bombings.
During a court hearing Wednesday, a prosecutor told a judge that a Florida man who implicated himself and Tamerlan Tsarnaev in the 2011 killings gave no indication that Tamerlan had told Dzhokhar about his alleged involvement.
Prosecutors argued against a request by Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's lawyers to turn over documents related to the statements made by Ibragim Todashev (IH'-bruh-heem TOH'-duh-shehv). They said releasing the details of Todahsev's statements could jeopardize an ongoing state investigation into the triple slaying.
Judge George O'Toole Jr. said he would review the documents before deciding whether the defense is entitled to them.
