The RCMP are announcing the arrest of a former Citizenship and Immigration Canada employee after she allegedly helped 22 people illegally obtain fraud Canadian passports.
50-year-old Aline Zetouine is facing 97 charges including breach of trust and multiple charges in relation to the production and distribution of fraudulent travel documents.
Officials say the probe began in March 2013 after the force was contacted by investigators with the CIC's passport program under the suspicion that an employee was processing fraudulent applications.
Four of the 22 people who allegedly attained fraudulent Canadian passports have also been charged.
