TORONTO — Police have issued a Canada-wide search warrant for Boris Panovski, 70, in the shooting death of 70-year-old Donato Frigo, killed while riding horseback in a rural area in southwestern Ontario last Saturday.
Panovski, from Toronto, is wanted on murder and attempted murder charges.
Frigo, a Toronto-area construction executive, was a highly regarded member of the hunting dog community. Panovski is also a member of that community.
Frigo was shot at the Hullett Wildlife Conservation Area near Clinton, Ont., about 200 kms west of Toronto, after a dog training competition.
Police did not update the condition of Frigo's wife, Eva Willer, also shot during what police called an "altercation" between the two men.
They did say she sustained minor injuries and was able to get to a place of safety.
Frigo was shot about 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13.
About seven hours later, Panovski changed his Facebook profile to a photograph showing him with Premier Kathleen Wynne.
A spokesman for the premier said the photo was snapped while Wynne was attending the St. Clements Macedonian Community Fest on Aug. 10.
