TORONTO - A man in his 30s is dead after he was electrocuted early Saturday while atop an industrial building in the west part of the city.

The victim was with two other men on the roof of a building when the man came in contact with a live hydro wire around 1 a.m., Toronto EMS Deputy Cmdr. David Viljakainen said.

The two other men were assessed at the scene and released.

The victim was found without vital signs, and rushed to hospital.

Toronto Police Staff Sgt. Jim Walker confirmed the man was declared dead in hospital.

The wire was a part of "customer-owned" equipment, Toronto Hydro's Tanya Bruckmueller said.

"It does not belong to Toronto Hydro, but we were able to isolate the customer and de-energize the power at the street," Bruckmueller said.
