Syed Akbaruddin tweets: "Support for a neighbour. Bangladesh's Ambassador in Djibouti with 272 compatriots evacuated by INS Sumitra from Yemen".
At least 304 Bangladeshis have been evacuated from Yemen so far, and the process will continue, the foreign ministry has said.
Of them, 272 were rescued by Indian Naval Ship (INS) from Al Hudaydah as was earlier tweeted by the Indian High Commission in Dhaka.
The foreign ministry on Friday in a statement said an Air India jet had evacuated 20 more from Yemen's capital Sana'a.
It said all of them had been taken to Djibouti, a tiny East African state opposite Yemen, where Bangladesh had set up a 'Repatriation Control Room'.
Bangladesh's Kuwait-based diplomats are conducting repatriation process from Djibouti.
The process has already begun and as part of that, 11 Bangladeshis already arrived in Dhaka by an Emirates flight on Friday, according to the foreign ministry.
Additional Foreign Secretary Mizanur Rahman received them at the airport along with other senior officials of the ministry.
The others are staying at Djibouti under the foreign ministry's arrangements.
The ministry said Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali was supervising the process from Dhaka and that the evacuation process from Yemen would continue.
Bangladesh does not have mission in Yemen and even in Djibouti, and thus it cannot say for sure how many Bangladeshis are living there.
India has helped in the evacuation process following Bangladesh's request.
Yemen became volatile with the rise of Shia Houthis who took over the capital six months ago and ousted its President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi.
The conflict has turned the impoverished Arabian Peninsula state into the latest theatre for Sunni Saudi Arabia's proxy war with its regional Shia rival Iran.
Tehran, however, denies Riyadh's charges that it has been arming the Houthis.
Bangladesh earlier endorsed its support to Saudi-led effort in Yemen.
