Doug Ford refused to take part in a Friday night debate involving mayoral candidate Ari Goldkind.
After dropping out of the debate hosted by the Inner City Union, Ford accused mayoral rival John Tory of being "scared" to debate him without his "sidekick" Goldkind.
"He's been to other debates with Olivia and myself, he loses every debate when it comes down to Olivia and I," Ford said.
"John Tory is scared to debate Olivia and I ... he wants his tag-team partner there."
"I'll debate John Tory and Olivia Chow anywhere," he added.
Earlier this week, Ford said he wouldn't take part in any debates that included Goldkind — who remains well back of the three frontrunners in the polls. When organizers kept Goldkind in Friday night's debate despite Ford's objections, he pulled out and said he'll instead spend the night canvassing.
Ford's campaign asked organizers to dump Goldkind from the debate on Thursday. In response, Tory refused to take part in the debate until organizers agreed to allow Goldkind back into the debate. Ford then dropped out of the debate Friday morning.
