VANCOUVER — Well, that was fun.
The Canucks overcame awkward goaltending and three two-goal deficits to turn a game that started like a turtle race-in-wet cement into a rollicking parade of scoring chances.
It ended as a 5-4 Canucks shootout win. There, the Canucks best shooters, Nick Bonino and Radim Vrbata, were both stoned. But Chris Higgins was not, scoring the lone goal.

Ryan Miller was brutal early and fantastic late. Coughed up a softy but made a series of timely saves in the third.
The Sedins were nowhere for the first 18 minutes but were then dancing, and dominant the rest of the way.
Henrik started the Canucks scoring by tipping a shot in with 10 seconds left in the first. It was the Canucks fourth shot of the game. They ended with 43.
Alex Burrows was everywhere, on the ice and in social media. His controversial hand pass helped set up Bonino for the Canucks huge second goal.
The Oilers were cruising, and up 3-1 at the time. They were incensed the goal counted but, by rule, if a player isn't trying to pass it to a teammate, the play continues. Burrows was trying to knock it down for himself.

The goal flipped the game around. The Canucks outshot the Oilers 21-8 in the second, taking it them at every chance.
The Canucks should have coasted to a win from there. And probably would have too if Daniel Sedin didn't fumble a puck at the blueline leading to a shorthanded Jesse Joensuu goal. That put Edmonton up 4-2 and they hung on to get the game to overtime tied at four.
In comparison to last year, the Canucks power play is just electric, scoring twice.
